About Words at Play Speech Pathology
Words at Play Speech Pathology is dedicated to empowering school-aged children, adolescents, and young adults through specialised speech, language, literacy, and social communication services. Our focus is on nurturing effective communication skills, building confidence, and fostering positive social interactions.

Our Approach
At Words at Play Speech Pathology, we believe that meaningful progress happens when therapy feels purposeful, playful, and personal. Our sessions are designed to be engaging, evidence-based, and driven by each child’s unique strengths and interests. We recognise that no two learners are the same, and we pride ourselves on creating supportive, inclusive environments where communication skills can flourish in authentic, real-world ways.

Neuro-Affirming
We take a neuro-affirming approach to therapy, which means we celebrate all neurotypes and support each individual’s communication style, sensory needs, and self-expression. Our goal is not to change who a child is, but to help them communicate effectively, confidently, and comfortably. We prioritise connection, self-advocacy, and emotional safety in every interaction.

Collaborative & Inclusive
We know that real progress happens when everyone is on the same page. That’s why collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We work closely with families, teachers, education support staff, and allied health professionals to ensure consistency across settings.

Empowering Communication for Life
Our goal is to help clients become confident, curious, and connected communicators, not just in therapy, but in everyday life. By blending interest based learning with real-world application, we equip our clients with skills that extend beyond words: self-awareness, problem-solving, emotional regulation, and social understanding.
